Mothers Day Service Project Update

Monday, May 3, 2010

I just wanted to share this e-mail I received this past week-end from my friend Patty with everyone that participated in the Mother's Day Cards to The Troops event I ran in March. I am so touched and inspired this story I hope you enjoy too:

Deb wanted to let you know that I heard thru my daughter in law that Jimmy's troop did receive the Mothers Day Cards. There was a cute story to go with ...guess Jimmy opened up the wonderful package of cards, was so pleased and surprised that amazing ladies would got to the trouble for he and his buddies. He picked his favorite for his mom (awhh what a nice boy...LOL) then took to the others in an area where they get together for morning coffee. Set them out, explained to everyone how they came to arrive to him. Went to chat with a mechanic about his helicopter for the days flight schedule, came back to the "coffee room" five minutes later and every single card was gone. The guys and gals thought this was just so awesome, these home made Mothers Day Cards...guess the shop at base had a selection of 2 cards that were pretty lame and they have been gone for months now. So this Service Project that you headed up Deb was so appreciated! As one soldiers mom, from the many, thank you from the bottom of my heart, for bringing a smile to these soldiers day~ And from all the mothers, wives, grandma's that will remember the homemade special card that they received from their soldier in 2010, that will hold a special memory for a lifetime.......Blessings to you and your fellow "card makers"

Now if that isn't a feel good I don't know what is! I am planning another project for the stamper's potluck in July....stay tuned for the details on this next month! Have a great week,
Pin It!
