Memories Of Karla

About 2 weeks ago a good friend and member of my Stampin' Up! downline passed away, Karla England (top photo). Last week was her service and I was lucky enough to attend it along with 4 other members of my downline in the Idaho area. The photos above are me with the various members of the downline in attendance: Jenny, Tammy, Diana and Guldara. The little guy is Elijah (grandson of Guldara) who informed me that he stamps too! One of the best things about Stampin' Up! is the friendships I have made over the years.

Karla was one of the first stampers that I met after moving to North Idaho. We remained friends after I moved from the area through our love of the craft. At one point Karla lived in downtown Seattle during her cancer treatment and I was able to go and take her stamping projects a few times to help pass the time during her stay.

Karla was a wonderful person and she fought her bone marrow cancer long (almost 6 years) and hard. She was an amazing person with a very cheerful and positive attitude....pretty sure this is what carried her through so long. She will be greatly missed by many. Those that know her realize she is in Heaven giving the angels a project to work on!

The cards in this post:

I created the Butterfly card in Poppy using the new Hope and Strength Stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog. This is the new Breast Cancer Research Stamp Set...each one that is sold $2.00 is donated towards Breast Cancer Research. Tim England (Karla's husband) asked me to design a card for Karla...so this is what I came up with....my thoughts were that Karla is finally free of pain and flew off to Heaven.

The other card posted was created for her family by Tammy Dunlap. At one point in time Tammy, Karla and I both belonged to a group of Stamper's that met monthly in Idaho to share stamping ideas and fellowship. Meeting at Karla's was really fun she always had really good desserts! I love how Tammy stamped the tree from Thoughts and Prayers and then cut it into 3 sections. The main card body has the lattice folder used on it. Karla would have loved this card.

Please pray for Karla's family during this time. Thanks,
