Michelle's Memorial

Wednesday, November 4, 2020

Hey Friends!  Today I am going to be sharing my beloved sister Michelle's recent memorial event with you.  My sibbling's and I hosted the event at my Church last month. We had to figure out a way to have a nice and safe memorial for her following our state's Covid-19 rules. Michelle loved flowers of all types and had a beautiful forget me not tattoo on her lower back.  She had it put there so that when she was barrel racing on her horse and her shirt flipped up in the back people would see it! Forget Me Not is the State of Alaska flower and I think that was why she choose it to honor our heritage.  My baby sister and I decided to go with a Forget Me Not theme and to incorporate as many of the things Michelle loved as possible into the event.  I love that I had so many stampin' up! products to use to help with the event.   Here's the invitation:

At the entry way to the memorial my sister Krist had a large canvas made of Michelle taken this past winter in Arizona.  It was so cool we did a photo op there with the guests!  Here I am with my sisters.

Krist and I made all the food it had to be pre-packaged so we had to get kind of creative with it!  Michelle had requested I made homemade bagels for her a few weeks before she passed so I learned how to make them (much easier then I envisioned).  She also had a love for Uncle Seth's Shortbread cookies.  Krist made these beautiful shortbread cookies with a forget me not on top of them...so yummy I am sad I didn't get a photo of them but they were packaged really cute just like the bagels!  Michelle's favorite flavor the day I made them was Rosemary Sea Salt.

My daughter and I designed and made a beautiful memorial card for her.  I really loved how the pocket in the inside turned out!

 With my husband and daughter:

My sister loved herbs so instead of flower centerpieces at the tables we did rosemary plants and then stuck a different photo of her on a floral pick! After the event each sister, my parents, aunt and a cousin or two took a plant home. Here the front of one of them:

The Back:
Thanks for dropping by today and letting me share a little more of my beautiful sister Michelle.  I sure appreciate all of my friends and family for your support the past several months your prayers,  cards, texts, emails, patience, calls, flowers, plants, gifts and food have provided a lot of comfort during a very difficult time for our family.

Have a great day,

The Flying Stamper
