The Flying Stamper: City of Hope Virtual Walk Photos and Thank You Card!

Hello Stamping Friends! Last weekend my sister, mom, daughters and husband participated in the Walk For Hope. We walked to help make a difference in the fight against breast and gynecological cancers -that is what the funds raised from this event are for. Many of you know we lost my beautiful sister Michelle to Uterine Cancer in 2020. We also lost our cousin Linda a few years prior to that from Uterine Cancer. One of my best friends is currently battling breast cancer. So doing this walk met a lot to my family and friends.

The walk this year was a virtual one the City of Hope provided us with some inspiration and fun to get us started the morning of the walk. We all started our walk from our towns and connected with a group phone call to discuss the walk and what we had raised! Our goal was 1K, we have almost made it, as of this moment in time we raised $975.00. You can still donate if you want to! (CLICK HERE to do that) Update 11/13/2022 we made our GOAL and are at $1135. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

We got a few signs from our Angel Michelle at the start of the walk my sister saw a yellow butterfly. Some of you know why that was special! Then it was pouring rain really hard when I woke up Sunday am and I was NOT looking forward to walking on a cold, rainy day BUT the weather cleared for a few hours and we did our 5K with no wind or rain! Thank you Jesus! We were walking from 3 different states, and everyone had decent weather! This photo of my sister Michelle walking the beach (one of her favorite things to do!) popped up on my FB memories that morning. Photo is from Pismo Beach, CA 2016.

Shortly after we finished walking, I received a message from a former co-worker that shared this:

"Deb-Thank you for doing this. That is where my dad passed away. They were wonderful to him and we never had to pay anything."

I designed this special card to send out to all that donated to the fundraiser this year I appreciate every single one. Isn't that little wine charm adorable? My daughter Michelle made it and was selling them to help raise funds for our Walk. I purchased one for each of the walkers and for the special cousin that lost her sister to Uterine Cancer too.
