ICS Blog Hop Technique Showcase

Hello, Stampin' Friends, it's time for the Inspire Create Share Blog Hop this month our theme is to showcase and inspire you with techniques! My project shows sponging and the faux tile technique easy peasy fun! The great thing about these techniques is they generally use supplies most of us already have! My project features the fun Sweet Citrus stamp set from the annual catalog. I am sending this card to my dad who has been ill. 
For the faux tile technique, you need either a score board or a paper trimmer and a scoring blade. My basic white layer is 4 x 5 and you will score it at 1-inch increments in both directions! The daffodil delight card base is 4 1/4 by 5 1/4. 
Do the scoring first then do the stamping the technique works best with bolder images. Stamp on the flat side of the scoring not the raised side!

Because I wanted to show as much of the faux tile as possible, I just wanted to use 1 layer for the punch out, but it didn't really pop till I sponged around the edges! I like to cut my stampin' sponges into quarters and use a binder clip to hold them...this keeps the ink of my fingers!
